Frequently Asked Questions

  • They are sparkling hair extensions that I attach to your natural hair using a crochet method. Essentially, I am tying a single fairy hair strand to a single strand of your hair, using a single knot at the root.

  • You will always book your appointment via the website, a booking link, or through me directly. This is the case even when I am working a pop-up event with a local business/boutique. Please only contact the boutique if you’re confirming their hours of operation and/or their location. We are guests in their space. They are not responsible for booking appointments or taking messages.

  • Fairy Hair is priced at $2 per strand and available in increments of 20 strand packages, starting at $40.

  • Most first-timers will do up to 40 strands, with the majority of clients realizing their hair can handle MUCH MORE!

20 strands is the PERFECT package for anyone trying Fairy Hair for their first time. It’s also great for those clients looking to maintain their Fairy Hair every month.

  • Appointment timeframes will vary depending on the package you book for, however the average appointment only takes 10-20 minutes from start to finish.

  • It couldn’t be easier!

Fairy Hair is maintained just as easily as your natural hair. You can wash, dry, curl, straighten, cut, color and heat up to 450 degrees.

  • Fairy Hair sheds right along with the natural hair it’s attached to.

Although results vary, most of my clients report their Fairy Hair lasting anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months. Some will go sooner, while others will last a year!

  • Regardless of hair type/ texture, if I can isolate single strands of your hair and you have at least 4 inches of hair for me to work with, then YES!

Fairy Hair looks different on everyone, but I personally think it’s worth trying at least ONCE to find out if it’s for YOU.

  • Yes!

I am available for private parties of ALL types, not just birthday parties. Fairy Hair is the perfect excuse to get the girls together for a little fun!

  • I do not charge a separate fee to come to you. Parties are a $200 minimum. For most parties that I attend, guests are paying individually. This could be 10 women getting 10 strands each, 5 women getting 20 strands each, etc. In some cases, depending on distance, a travel fee may apply.

  • The particular product I use is artificial silk, traditionally found in the textile industry.

  • As someone who has curly hair, you know that not all curls are created equal. I have plenty of clients with curly hair that LOVE their Fairy Hair and can’t live without it. On the other hand, I’ve also had some women with curly hair try Fairy Hair, and don’t think it works well for them. With that being said, I encourage YOU to try it for yourself.

  • No. Fairy Hair does not contain metal and is safe to keep in your hair during an MRI. If you’re still uneasy, I recommend doing whatever makes you comfortable.

  • I prefer packages not be split between guests. The exception to this would be if you book a package that can be split in such a way that each guest receives the minimum package of 20 strands.

  • Fairy Hair installed using the crochet method is meant to last as long as the hair it is attached to, shedding naturally. In my experience, children under 10 years old are likely to lose their Fairy Hair quickly, sometimes within days. For the best results, I recommend being at least 12 years old.

  • The cost of Fairy Hair not only covers the product I use, but the application process as well. The price accounts for each time I use my technique to attach them throughout your hair. This means that no matter how long or short your hair is, the price is the same.

  • I accept cash, card and digital currency such as Cashapp, Venmo, and Paypal. Credit cards are subject to a processing fee.

  • In an effort to keep my pricing as it is ($2 per strand), I have implemented a higher processing fee for credit card transactions. Fairy Hair has been around for 20+ years and, as far as I know, has NEVER seen a price increase. I’m trying to keep it that way.

  • They're my tools! As long as I've been doing this with long nails, I wouldn't know how to do it WITHOUT them.

  • Hair does not need to be freshly cleaned, however it should be free of any heavy spray or gel. It needs to be dry and fairly brushed, free of major tangles. Additionally, you should plan to arrive to your appointment 15-20 minutes early to account for any parking challenges. Some locations have limited parking close by.
